Welcome to Somerset Elementary School PTA

Somerset is a grades K-5 elementary school located in Chevy Chase, Maryland. We are part of the B-CC cluster in the Montgomery County School system.  The association of parents and teachers at Somerset Elementary is a key ingredient to our school’s success.  The Somerset PTA seeks to promote the welfare of children, support our teachers, and bring our families’  homes into a closer relationship with the school.  We provide teachers stipends, a cultural arts program, scholarships, and services such as a school directory and yearbook.  We host community events including a fall picnic, a book fair, a school dance and toy-drive with the theme of giving to others, a school play, a used book & bake sale and a night to Share our Diversity.  We represent the school in the larger PTA community and we encourage all families to get involved within their classrooms and the school.

 

Our beloved 5th grade teacher, Mr. Matwey is currently working with the Student Government Group to collect Box Tops for Education.  Box Tops for Education has helped America’s schools earn over $400 million since 1996.
